We are excited to Announce that the Kickstarter campaign for DREAD: Book of Lovecraft is now live!
For those of you who may not be familiar with what Kickstarter is; Kickstarter is a platform helps people get support for new and innovative products when they don't have the capital to go it alone. essentially it is a place where individuals(and companies) can pitch a product and take pre-orders for those products... without the need for large capital reserves.
simply put, it lets start-ups and the little guys compete with the big guys.
after some work, and careful consideration, we have decided that DREAD: Book of Lovecraft and Kickstarter are a good fit; To that end we have launched our Kickstarter campaign.
we are offering a number of cool and fun rewards in addition to the game itself. check it out let us know what you think; I am confident It will be worth your time.
feel free to share it amongst anyone you feel would be interested. stay tuned for more updates, including a playable demo.
The most important part of any Kickstarter campaign is the Support behind it. so thank you for all that you guys do.
After months of work, and more sleep-less nights than we care to admit, we have got our prototype for DREAD in a state that we are confident to show people. that's where all of you come in. We are looking for a group of people to play the game; play it and break it!
Those selected will be asked to install the demo(probably more than once), play it through (probably more than once) and tell us how to make it better. we would like to have a group of people, preferably without heart conditions, who love to play games and are not easily frustrated.
To that end, and in an effort to add a little element of fun, we will be choosing the play testers for anyone who follows us on IndieBD, Facebook, Twitter, or subscribes to our newsletter.
As an added bonus, for each 100 followers we will give away a Fun Prize... These are unique items that no one outside of our team has.
So here is how we are going to do it; everyone who follows us will be added to the list of candidates, we will work through the candidate list sending out a few simple questions (OS, specs, games you've played, etc.) to see if you are a good fit. Those that are will get the prototype and be asked to play it... After which we will ask a couple of additional question... To make sure it is at its best.
For the time being we are focusing on the PC build first, and Mac second... Sorry, Linux folk you will have to wait until the Unreal Engine 4 beta.
We are doing this in preparation for our Kickstarter that starts on Halloween, so you have to follow us before Monday (the deadline is October 26th 11:59pm MST) in order be considered, so follow early and get ready to have some fun.
We are providing the Links below to make it as easy as possible for you to get in on it.
Some of you may be wondering where the Tall Ship Studio newsletter was this week; It wasn't waiting in your inbox Sunday morning as it usually is... well the short answer is: It is coming later this week; the long answer is, well, longer...
we have some big news coming soon and we want to make sure it is well received... so, we are doing a few things;
A) the info is going to be newsletter exclusive, no-one else; Not Facebook, not IndieDB, no even our blog is going to get it.
B). we are moving it out until Wednesday to make sure you all get a chance to join the newsletter in time.
C) we have tried to make it as painless as possible to signup; there is a signup form on our About Us page, there is the smart bar at the top of the page, and we have added a newsletter tab to our facebook page. All of this to make it as easy on you as possible.
so, join the newsletter, and stay up-to-date.
This is part of an overall stratagem on our part to dovetail the news we deliver with a time-frame that is best for all of us.
P.S. Wednesday will be when we make THIS announcement, but it will not be the new regular newsletter day. Friday is the new regular newsletter delivery day.
Tall Ship Team
We bring you new, fun and innovative ways to play.
